Irish Festival Is Drawing Attention

Get out that lawn chair as this year’s Greeley Irish Festival is gaining substantial attention from Irish festival music followers in the region. This year will mark the arrival of one of the nation’s premier Irish groups, The Elders, for their first visit to America’s “real” Irish Capital.

The Elders are considered to be one of best and largest crowd drawing U.S. Irish Festival groups today.
Mark Tucker of Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange critiqued the group recently by saying, "The Elders are marrow deep in their unique art, and it's not only pleasing as hell, but infectious... These boys don't just pick and grin, they damn near set their instruments on fire!"

The Elders will play a few events after Greeley and then head out on their annual Ireland tour October 22-31.
The Elders share the day’s stage with two other groups that have strong appeal both internationally and locally.
The Minnesota based Wild Colonial Bhoys have drawn much local attention with their appearances at the Greeley event in the past, to the point that they have developed a growing following of younger to middle aged fans that have come to appreciate their high energy performances, especially in the evening set. The Bhoys will be back in town again this year.

Not to be lost in the shuffle is one of the highest ranked international Irish groups, The Dublin City Ramblers. This group specializes in a unique blend of ballads, folk, humor and foot-tapping music. Their performances have been seen around the world. Greeley is just one of their stops this month.

Are they in demand? This will give you an idea of the schedule for this group for just some of September:

September 8, Orlando, Florida
September 14, Triangle, VA.
September 15, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

September 17, Atlantic Beach, Florida
September 18, Cocoa Beach, Florida
September 21, The Greeley Nebraska Irish Festival
September 22, "Get Shamrocked Festival," Murrieta, California.

And they are all coming to Greeley on September 21st!
